The list that follows includes a few businesses that I can feel comfortable in referring to my readers. My recommendations are based on four major criteria: A. Inventory - both quantity, quality and depth B. Quality of staff - both knowledge and attitude C. Support for the novice Scotch single malt client D. Attitude toward education and responsible use of liquor I have personal knowledge of many of these establishments. In some cases, however, I am depending on what I hear from my readers and fellow Scotch single malt lovers. I feel it unfair to make negative statements concerning retail businesses about which I have no first hand knowledge. I do feel that it is fair to refer those stores that have been complimented so often by my readers. I make an effort to visit those stores that elicit high praises very often. If available, I have listed those persons that are known "good contacts" at these establishments. There most likely are other staff members that can serve you just as well. In ALL situations, ask for "the Scotch single malt expert" in the store. I receive no referral fees for listing the Scotch single malt retail concerns that follow.
