Basic Requirements
The basic requirements of a Scotch Doc-certified "Scotch
Single Malt Bar of Distinction" are the inclusion of at
least one Scotch single malt from each of the traditional geographical
Scotch Single Malt Whisky production "Regions and Districts."
In addition, there must be representatives of other geographical
locations, or Districts, within these Regions that many experts
on the Scotch single malt believe consistently contribute a
distinctive quality or level of character to malts that are
produced in these geographical locales. A particular distillery
that consistently produces a malt of distinctive quality will
also be included in this list. Malts bottled at cask strength
and Independent Bottling representatives should also be included
in the inventory of an exemplary Scotch single bar. Therefore,
the "Scotch Single Malt Bar of Distinction," as designated
by The Scotch Doc, will stock at least one Scotch single malt
representative from each of the locales (Region and District)
included in the following list.
